Gambel Communications welcomes new communications strategist

NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans-based public relations firm Gambel Communications is pleased to welcome back Meagen Moreland-Taliancich. The appointment is effective immediately.

As a public relations strategist, Moreland’s responsibilities include media relations, community relations, special event planning and management and social media for clients representing a variety of disciplines. Moreland is assisting with a myriad of clients including Louisiana Children’s Museum, New Orleans Women & Children’s Shelter, One Pack Hospitality, United Way of Southeast Louisiana and Plaquemines Parish Ready Start Network.

“Meagen brings more than 15 years of multi-sector communications experience at the local, national and international levels,” says Amy Boyle Collins, Gambel Communications CEO. “Having previously worked with Gambel Communications prior to starting her own business, Happy Raptor Distilling, I am excited to welcome her back to our agency.”  

Most recently, Moreland served as the chief brand officer at Happy Raptor Distilling which she co-founded with her husband and business partner in 2020. She also served at the Consulate General of France in Louisiana as the press and communications attaché where she led press and media for the diplomatic visits of the first female Mayor of Paris, the Ambassador of France in the United States and high-ranking political figures from across the world.

Moreland has been recognized as a BIZ Magazine New & Notable and named as one of New Orleans’ 500 Most Influential Leaders. She is an alumnus of the Beloved Community and MiNO’s Equity at Work: Hospitality cohort, Goldman-Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, City of New Orleans Civic Leadership Academy, Bryan Bell Leadership Forum and the Loyola Institute of Politics.

A native of South Carolina, Moreland pursued academia in French & Francophone Studies, completing her undergraduate studies at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, her master’s from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and doctoral coursework at Tulane University.
