Policy Institute Launches Annual Parent Poll to Gather Input from Families of Young Children

Survey invites Louisiana parents of children under age 5 to share their perspectives from October 28 through November 11

Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Policy Institute for Children (LPIC), in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) and Agenda for Children, opens its annual parent survey on October 28. This survey will remain available through November 11 and invites Louisiana parents and caregivers of children under age 5 to share their experiences and perspectives on early childhood education.

The input of parents and guardians is critical to understanding the needs of Louisiana families and informing efforts to strengthen early childhood education across the state of Louisiana. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate and make their voices heard.

“Parents are essential partners in building a stronger early childhood system for Louisiana,” said Libbie Sonnier, Ph.D., chief executive officer at LPIC. “By sharing their experiences and perspectives, families can help us better understand their needs and identify opportunities to support children across our state.”

Available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, the Parent Poll aims to capture a wide variety of family experiences throughout the state. LPIC has conducted this critical survey since 2020, using the data to inform policymakers about the most pressing needs and challenges facing families with young children.

The survey can be taken here. The survey will be open until November 11. Questions range from a family’s child care choices to concerns about the future and more. For more information on LPIC, please visit PolicyInstituteLA.org.
