Meagen Moreland-Taliancich
Senior Communications Strategist
Meagen Moreland-Taliancich is a senior communications strategist at Gambel Communications, bringing more than 15 years of multi-sector experience spanning local, national and international work. Originally from South Carolina, she excels in partnering with mission-driven organizations to lead crisis and issue communications, shape reputation and build brands with clarity and intention.
In 2014, Meagen joined the Consulate General of France in Louisiana as press and communications attaché, directing public relations for the French government throughout the region through crises, cultural festivals and diplomatic visits by high-ranking political figures, including the first female Mayor of Paris. During this time, she also completed formal public relations and crisis management training in Paris at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meagen originally joined Gambel in 2018, working with clients across industries, including Bridge House / Grace House, House of Blues and Louisiana Office of Tourism. In 2019, Meagen co-founded Happy Raptor Distilling, joining only 8% of female distillery owners nationwide. As chief brand officer, she built the brand from the ground up and led strategy through a global pandemic, a Category 4 hurricane and an unpredictable economy.
She is an alumna of Beloved Community’s Equity at Work: Hospitality inaugural cohort, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small
Business program, the City of New Orleans Civic Leadership Academy, Bryan Bell Leadership Forum and the Loyola Institute of Politics. Her work has been recognized with a Biz Magazine New & Notable cover profile and inclusion in the Biz 500. In 2024, she received the Public Relations Society of America’s Anvil Award and Award of Excellence for her work with the Louisiana Children’s Museum and United Way of Southeast Louisiana. In 2025, Meagen earned her certification in AI for Public Relations and Communications Professionals from The Media Copilot, and is GEO certified from Muck Rack.
Meagen earned a BA from The George Washington University and a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She is fluent in English and French and is reading certified in Italian and Spanish.
