Coleman E. Adler II announces retirement

NEW ORLEANS – As the jewelry and fine merchandise industry changes, 127-year-old Adler’s Jewelry announces the retirement of company owner and family patriarch, Coleman E. Adler II.

“After much thoughtful consideration, I have made the decision to retire,” Adler explained. “After 62 years in the business, I’m looking forward to enjoying time off.”

The next generation of Adler’s have each built careers and are deeply involved in the New Orleans community. All intend for the Adler name to continue to be an important part of the business climate in New Orleans.

“Our whole family has deep gratitude for the loyalty, friendship and trust so many clients have shared over the decades,” Adler said. “Their support has been instrumental to our success in 127 years of serving New Orleans.”

Founded in 1898 by Coleman E. Adler I in the historic French Quarter, Adler’s has remained a hallmark of New Orleans tradition and craftsmanship for 127 years. Through five generations of stewardship, the store has been a destination for fine jewelry, gifts and housewares – celebrating life’s most meaningful moments alongside its clients.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 10, Adler’s will hold a storewide retirement sale at the flagship location, 722 Canal Street, and the Metairie location, 2937 Veterans Blvd. This opportunity to shop significant discounts on all store inventory will continue until all inventory is sold.
