Challenge:

In response to the unprecedented national addiction crisis, New Orleans-based businessman, Chris McMahon founded Longbranch Healthcare, an innovative, outcomes-focused, comprehensive addiction treatment project that represents the largest investment in addiction treatment in Louisiana in the last decade.  

Longbranch Recovery Center is a $10 million newly constructed residential treatment facility in Abita Springs. Longbranch Wellness is a 10,000-square-foot luxury outpatient treatment center in Old Metairie. For nearly a decade, McMahon battled an opioid addiction that nearly ended his life. Since getting sober in 2000, he has made it his life’s mission to build healthcare facilities that serve the community and fill market voids.   

Campaign:

Gambel Communications worked with McMahon to raise awareness for Longbranch Healthcare and its recovery centers, as well as establish himself as a thought-leader in the national and local recovery treatment community. To do so, Gambel Communications employed a layered approach to position the recovery centers and McMahon positively within the community using both earned and paid media opportunities in addition to strategic social media strategies and implementation and community relations.

Result:

As a result of Gambel Communication’s strategic efforts, Longbranch Healthcare has been leveraged within the community as the number one center for addiction recovery. The openings of the Metairie and Abita Springs locations have been featured on all four major stations in New Orleans, with exclusive features in New Orleans MagazineCityBusiness and Biz Magazine. McMahon received top honors as a New Orleans Magazine Kingfish and has been positioned as the leading expert on addiction recovery in both Orleans and St. Tammany parishes. 

Gambel Communications introduced McMahon to several local dignitaries ahead of both recovery center openings such as New Orleans Councilmember-at-Large, Jason Williams, St. Tammany Parish president, Pat Brister, Jefferson Parish Councilwoman, Jennifer Van Vrancken and St. Tammany Parish Sherriff, Randy Smith, all of which have given support to the cause. On social media, Gambel Communications garnered more than 5,000 followers for McMahon over 6 months by focusing mainly on videos and Facebook Ads, with posts reaching on average 2,400 people each time.
